    My Hero Academia: Two Heroes

    ★★★½

I'm rewatching the movies because I'm also rewatching the anime, and my first impression remains the same. It’s a good movie—not as good as the anime, but good enough to not feel like an obligatory torture session.

Definitely a different movie from the usual. Druk is, in many ways, a study of how alcohol can affect your life—both positively and negatively. Unfortunately, even though I think it's a good film, its message doesn't land with full impact.

    Akira

    ★★★★

Akira is a great movie—definitely not for everyone, but undeniably great.

The aesthetics are impressive, reshaping culture and defining the cyberpunk atmosphere. The body horror is perfectly executed, striking just the right tone. Absolutely gorgeous!

I don’t think it’s a perfect movie due to its somewhat confusing narrative. Some elements are simpler than the film makes them seem, and certain questions remain unanswered. Even though Akira is gripping, it feels like the movie needed more time to fully conclude its story.
