I loved the high tension and realism of the first half, and I weirdly liked the abstractness, deep psychological nature of the second half but I will admit that it wasn’t so coherent and there where many shots that dragged on too long.

Gloria 2013
Gloria explores the challenges of loneliness and the search for companionship in middle age through the story of its titular character, a 58-year-old Chilean divorcee. As a gay man, I found the film surprisingly relatable, even though its themes are deeply intertwined with aging.
Paulina García delivers a compelling performance, and I appreciate how the script allows Gloria to be complex—neither an invincible heroine nor a deeply flawed character. She longs for connection, yet she’s not without her own missteps…
