i get now why so many people dislike the prequels. i thought the hate was overblown but i get it. completely wooden acting from so much of the cast, full of blatant fan service tying back to the original trilogy, and just general kitschiness.
i can accept that anakin is supposed to be a christ-figure and “the chosen one” but having him actually be the result of honest-to-god immaculate conception is a bridge too far. joke movie.

the spectacle doesn’t feel forced. it takes itself seriously sometimes to the point of being cringy but even then you can’t really begrudge it. the performances were obviously the highlight. also they should have just been lesbians together. im sure fiyero is a lovely guy but their chemistry and dynamic together was leagues above his and elphaba’s.

i thought i knew what happened in this movie based on like memes and having seen bits and pieces but there was actually a lot more to it than i thought. cher is a pretty compelling protagonist that you can't help but like. overall a fun watch despite the weird pseudo-incestuous implications with a MAN who should frankly know better than to pursue a 16 year old girl.
