One of those films that really has no flaws. Such a simple story but so gripping, a very limited score which means every emotion you feel from the film feels earned. I love the use of other children as the primary driver of pushing the narrative forward and the use of the adults as the primary antagonists to a boy simply trying to do a good thing. Ahmedpour is a fantastic protagonist, you learn so much about this character with…

Very mixed feelings on this given that Jinnah is played by A WHITE BRITISH MAN. Imagine how pissed off I was when the performance was actually fire too 😭. Christopher Lee was in over 265 films many of which have been enshrined in pop culture as some of the most influential of all time. Knowing that makes it even crazier to think that Lee called this his best and most important role to date. If you are Pakistani this is a must watch yes I’m talking to you Hasan. 9/10

Sad to say that I was disappointed by this film. It felt like the film makers relied so heavily on its twists and convoluted plot that they neglected on other aspects of its production. Masterclass in editing. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. The way this movie decides when to cut is truly a thing of beauty, I couldn’t forecast that a cut was coming which constantly kept me surprised. Coupled with that hypnotizing score makes this one of the most well paced watches I’ve seen in quite some time. 9/10
