  love love love paul leonard morgan’s work in this. beautiful balance between strings and brass, and the blend between sections was amazing. a film like this needs music to carry that tension and oh my god did they succeed.

  this is such a beautiful film. as a la la land lover this felt like coming home. the only thing that is stopping me from putting this in my top four is the fact that their relationship doesn’t feel lived in enough in the beginning. there’s a lot of strong feelings and emotions, i just wish that they added ten minutes to the beginning to establish guy and genevieve’s relationship. i think then the audience would more emotionally invested. apart from that, truly a masterpiece. i’m not surprised to hear that damian chazelle has watched this over 200 times.
