If the sneaking suspicion that you’re in danger and the building panic that comes with it was a movie, it would be this. It’s been awhile since I was properly uncomfortable and “thrilled horrifically” the way this movie managed to make me. Nothing happened but also so much and it all felt wrong. From the relationship between the two girls to their interactions with the “town”, everything was shadowed in an air of wrongness that was executed really well.

Heartwarming and hilarious, raw and well spoken. I always enjoy movies that showcase the lives of those with disabilities in a non exploitative punch line context, and instead focus on the everyday struggles and lifestyles of those individuals. Being neurodivergent myself it has a soft spot in my heart. I think this movie did a good job telling those stories on the backdrop of a simple yet comedic question of how do those who disabilities put them in a wheelchair…

A 100% accurate display of being in middle school and the transition period in early adolescence, I felt like I was transported. The awkwardness, posturing, angst, extremisms, wrapped up in small body’s that don’t quite fit the growing soul within, it all came through and more with the background of the Asian American journey. It felt like watching a blip in time of a life lived by any number of people, raw and real if not unique.

An interesting premise that slowly lost itself over the course of the movie. The attraction between the cop and the suspect is startlingly strong but rushed, and the suspense begins to fall short and get repetitive until you’re just slightly bored and confused. If the pacing was fixed it would hit better but not a bad dark romance.
