It was literally just those o lay o lie o lore TikTok videos turned into a movie.
Good film, but definitely not Wes Anderson’s best.
Some things I loved:
- I think Wes Anderson did a great job with the transitions from movie to play to backstage. The movie really did feel like a play, and the change of color tone made sense too which I think it sometimes unnecessary in films that switch from b&w to color (cough cough Blonde)

Watched with my friend at the bfi and we laughed the entire time! It was such a good summer movie and definitely deserved some of the crazy hype it was getting. Margot Robbie is God like (as per usual) and Ryan Gosling is hilarious.
I do think there were a few loose plot lines which could have been addressed and brought to a close. For example there was pretty much no context for the mother/daughter relationship, and America Ferrera’s “dark”…
