extremely cliche and somehow a watered down version of a very mediocre book, it’s only redeeming quality is a few glimpses of beautiful cinematography (EDIT: Jenny Slates monologue was exceptional, fine i’m adding another half star . )

i’m smiling because cinema isn’t dead. some of the stylistic choices were slightly jarring (tennis ball pov, house music punching you round the face every so often??) but i respect the ambition and creativity so ill let it slide. in my opinion, this was more a story of friendship/love between art and patrick and tashi’s love for tennis off and on the court. other than the techno in some places, the score was a treat; had to whip out shazam in the cinema. enjoyed this beginning to end!!
