I've been meaning to watch this since 2022 when I read Ian Nathan's book Anything You Can Imagine: Peter Jackson & the making of Middle Earth. Aside from the crazy plot, it's interesting to see the cinematic techniques and styles Peter Jackson used pre-LOTR in this film and how they developed. Not to say he invented them, but they are very reminiscent of his filmmaking style.

Le Samouraï 1967
He moves like a mouse trapped in a human skin. I get the vibe of the film and what it was going for, but unfortunately I've realized I can withstand
"boring" books where nothing happens but struggle to do the same with "boring" films.Translated from by

The two sides of cinematic hell are European films with practically no plot with a series of random scenes with characters we don’t care about and that we should think is “deep” and American films where helicopters are exploding every five seconds to make sure you’re still paying attention to the movie instead of read out loud Reddit posts with subway surfers in the background.

My favorite quote in all cinematic history is, "I had to quit being a Buddhist because I feel so much hate."
