This is my third Joanna Hogg movie and I like her films. Firstly I love the cinematography - each shot looks like a piece of art and the use of light is gorgeous, reminding me of a Vermeer painting. Her films are understated depictions of the everyday interrelationships of the white middle-class and her observations are astute.

I have to watch this film again as I didn't give it the attention it deserved. It took me a while to get into it, hence the distraction but by the end I was convinced it is quite brilliant. It is visually stunning, as is common for a Sally Potter film and it seems that most of the films I love are! It covers quite a lot of territory including love, politics, racism and class. I am really surprised that it has had such limited viewing by letterboxd members.

The best comedy I have seen in a long time, and it is difficult to find a good movie. It wasn't as good as I was expecting it to be, based on the reviews I read, but it was a highly watchable fun romp, and I thought Ewan McGregor was particularly good. it is difficult to believe that this is a true story, but as they say truth is stranger than fiction. I highly recommend it.
