    Mickey 17

    ★★★½

Mickey 17 is a messy but tense, promising, and compelling social commentary on wealth and class from Bong Joon Ho, with standout performances from Robert Pattinson, Mark Ruffalo, and Naomi Ackie. This dystopian, sci-fi thriller succeeds in being visually stunning, as well as creating a nice balance between its pathos and quirkiness. It’s flaws, however, can be recognized from its plot holes and cluttered storytelling, but even with these profound issues, it is still thematically strong and entertaining enough to rewatch in the future.

    Captain America: Brave New World

    ★★★½

Captain America: Brave New World is a surprisingly strong spy thriller that gives Anthony Mackie the spotlight he deserves as a lead in a Marvel film, with exhilarating action sequences, a grounded tone, and praiseworthy performances from its cast. Despite being bloated with characters and plot lines, as well as including a long-awaited antagonist who I wanted to see more of throughout the film’s runtime, Marvel fans, and moviegoers who enjoy a nice spy flick, are in for a nice treat.

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance)

Birdman or (the Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) is a dazzling motion picture with impressive editing, camera work, and visual effects that includes a layered story emphasizing self-respect, identity, and mental health while also focusing on fame and relevancy in the entertainment business. Along with its spectacular all-star cast, but far-fetched  symbolism and satire on the modern day film industry, Birdman is an ambitious, beautiful, and imaginative Best Picture winner from Alejandro González Iñárritu

    LFG!!!

WHAT AN ADRENALINE RUSH! If you are a fan of the original X-Men and Deadpool films from Fox, and you are worried about how Disney and Marvel include the titular characters in this legacy film, throw your concerns out the window! Deadpool and Wolverine is more than a fan service project in the MCU, it is both an invitation and farewell to some of the best, cinematic renditions of the comic brand’s beloved characters (similar to No Way Home) that…
