  My favourite film. Everybody working on this is at the top of their game. Rob Bottin is always rightly lauded for his incredible practical creature effects work, but beyond that there’s Dean Cundey’s composition and cinematography, the ensemble cast of gruff character actors, the  set design work of John Lloyd, Ennio Morricone’s spare but unsettling score - and all orchestrated by John Carpenter, working for the first time with a big studio size budget and amenities.
