It’s elevated gore!!!
I really wanted to like this because of who’s son directed it, but this was just awful. It was so boring and it seemed like the script could have used a few dozen more drafts. This whole thing seemed to be just a big damned excuse for all the kills.
This is another of those films that I watched repeatedly for a time when I was a kid, but had not seen in a very long time. It held up well. It was good to revisit this.
The Juilliard classroom scene was impressive in that the entire scene was one shot. My 1.5 stars go to that scene.
How is it possible that a two hour and thirty eight minute film can feel as though half of the film is missing? Another question: Have you ever been watching a film and thought, “What was the point of that scene? It didn’t really advance the story.” About 80% of the run time of this film was exactly that. …
