Pig 2021
Not at all what I expected in the best way possible. Pig feels like a hangout movie with an interesting lore embedded within. Slowly uncovering the characters past through moments of reconnecting, whether it is with a person, a place or a fancy dinner.
The characters in this movie are faced with confronting their memories both good and bad in a way that permeates into the physical world. This is even true for minor characters which gives you a good idea of their story as well, resulting in masterful world building.

The two stand out scenes in this movie are the set up on the bridge and the climax. Jack a sound designer for films stands on a bridge and records different sounds at a distance moving his directional microphone around locating the source of different noises in the park, a frog an owl, a couple and eventually car crash that sets the plot in motion. The camera jump cutting outward from the protagonist but always keeping him in frame showing…
