Ironically this 90s made-for-tv movie (later realised theatrically in the States) feels more cinematic than the majority of current films found on streaming services. The economy of style works in the films favour as it contributes to the old-fashioned feel and comes across as having great visual panache.

Putting aside excellent gags and the ongoing satirisation of Communists tasting the good life, the film is slightly dissapointing due to the lack of chemsitry and mis-casting/mis-writing of the male romantic lead.

An bold pulpy retelling of the succubus myth, updated to a Black neighbourhood in 90s New York. Featuring a great score, fantastic cinematography and scenes both funny and scary all while participating in the gothic tradition, with an added edge of satire and allusions to the aids epidemic.
Angela Carter would have loved this.
An excellent slow burn which elevates its subject matter from a dull based on a true story narrative into a David and Goliath shaped interrogation of the cost that comes from telling the truth in corporate America.
