forgot how solid this movie is, and definitely forgot that it works so well because it’s not a live-action of the Disney animated movie, but rather just a Cinderella movie. Recently read the Grimm’s original story and was pleasantly surprised to find some nods to it here.
The costumes are great, the relationship between Ella and Kit is wonderful, Ella in general is so lovely, and Kenneth Branagh is a surprising good fit for this as a director.
