I don't think it's wise to watch the film after reading the book.
It felt like such a big mistake.
They've omitted so many important things from the film.
One of the most heartbreaking moments of the entire book, the very struggle to take shorab back, that entire part is not there in the film.
This film is hard to watch, it's an animated film directed by Isao Takahata. Released in 1988, it tells the story of two siblings, Seita and Setsuko, struggling to survive in Japan during World War II. The film masterfully explores themes of loss, resilience, and the devastating impact of war on civilians. The animation is beautiful, capturing both the innocence of childhood and the harsh reality of their circumstances. The emotional depth and sincerity of the narrative make it a powerful and unforgettable cinematic experience.
Better than average more like nice film, not flawless and far from perfect. It's an enjoyable movie and won't let you drop it before it ends.
It's one of my most beloved movies, it's about the celebration of life and living to the fullest. Just a catch, Only if you can afford to do so.
