  Didn’t really “get” this movie until I read some reviews. Thought it was kind of boring but was always feeling tense that something would happen, which was the point. Great performance from Paul Mescal and Frankie Corio, She was just being a kid and he was trying to do his best but always feeling unable to meet expectations, and the whole movie exists in her memory.

  Boring and unimpactful. Being a “hillbilly” (JD Vance grew up in a very populated suburb of Cincinnati) had nothing to do with this story. You could have told this story anywhere and still had no substance behind it.
