A lot of people getting mad that the lead is a white, privileged girl cause it "wasn't as interesting" when that is precisely the reality of how it is.
She experiences the least amount of backlash and risk which is why her asian best friend called her out on it. She is born into privilege. Her last "obstacle" was accepting that and then deciding what she would do with that privilege.
