Beautiful connected chemistry between the two leads. Moving story about loss, grief, and the big ol cancer disease that defies the tropes of the illness in film we typically see.

One of the most tragically bad things I’ve seen in a long time. The film is constantly working against itself with confusing tone switches, music that …. Is truly unlistenable.. and accent work from Selena Gomez that affirms to me… that the buzz this film is getting is really guided by its celebrity casting and terrible attempt to center  a trans narrative. The gaze of a straight white man is all over the handling and writing of a Trans identity, and fetishization of Mexican culture.

From Zoe Saldana’s blocked eyebrows to the comically literal song lyrics, I was Confused! By! Truly ! Every! Element!

A fascinating time capsule of the 1950s… You really understand watching this film why Marilyn Monroe has the cult like following that she does. Her physical presence on camera and sheer star power is so palpable and difficult to encapsulate in words… She is so funny, grounded and gorgeous in this film.

The delusional male protagonist was fun to make fun of, but wow some of the films “fantasy” sequences are really poorly staged (pre intimacy coordinators lol) , taking…
