Past Lives 2023
Honestly, this is why movies exist. This is the kind of film that you know is gonna hurt, but you watch it anyway. Can’t believe I waited almost two years to see it. Nothing about this review is eloquent, but holy fuck watch this movie.

A Real Pain 2024
Idk what I expected but I found myself disappointed by the tone of the movie as the promotional materials framed the story differently. I think I was expecting something like the film, A Good Person. Something emotional and heavy, but ultimately hopeful. Unfortunately I found there was a lack of emotional payoff and the characters learned nothing. I would love to be told that I’m misreading the film, but I was left wanting.

I’m late, but only because I was 5 when this first came out. Such a gorgeous story, really beautifully told. I’m hoping we can get back to the golden age of romcoms. This film got all the parts right, including the little bit of magic that the audience just accepts.
