My Neighbor Totoro 1988
A boring, pointless mess of a film with no plot, no point and no direction. A complete lack of structure or even a mildly entertaining unstructured series of events. This film feels like scattered thoughts hanging all it's worth on cutesy characters which are not enough to make a cohesive narrative. Some fine art and a pleasant score are about as much as I can muster for praise.

Well acted but insufferable. I almost walked out of the theater (which I never do). Not one character had any redeemable qualities or was remotely interesting and the plot, what little there was, was pretentious and directionless. It's a shame this is supposed to be Daniel Day Lewis' final film. A pitiful end to an otherwise delightful career.
