“Fascism must pass, and pass it will, like sailboats, miniskirts, and rock ‘n roll. We have years of struggle ahead and often within ourselves. That’s why I’m scared, scared of being weary in advance, scared of giving up the struggle . . . Got a cigarette?”

Anora 2024
What an oddly paced and plotted movie. What was with that excruciatingly long scene in the house where we wait for new characters to catch up on things we just spent the last hour watching for ourselves? Why do we then spend another hour lumbering towards an inevitable conclusion the characters themselves told us will happen? Have the people calling this section "screwball" actually seen a screwball comedy? Why does the movie introduce its first interesting and complex relationship with 20-minutes left to go?
