Watched Casablanca again, probably for the third or fifth time, but this time in actual Casablanca, Morocco. I also visited the famous Rick's cafe, where the film goes on a loop. That was a beautiful experience... Nevertheless, I might get the appeal for this movie a bit more now, having experienced Casablanca, and seen how some character descriptions match reality (especially the market scene), but I have to say, I still don't get the fuss about it.

I had a nice time watching this movie, particularly because I realized that in every killing scene that Tony caused (directly or indirectly) appears a hidden X (like his scar). We see an X in the opening as well as the closing scene of the movie. What's more, Francesca has an X around her throughout the whole movie as an anticipation of her death. Also, almost every killing scene is shown inderectly , using shadows. I find that this symbolism gives depth to the movie, which makes it more interesting to watch.
