I’m not a horror/scary movie person, but I weirdly wanted more horror? I thought the mood, costuming, and (most) of the acting was good. The first act draggggged. It really could have been cut. Second act is where is really gets going and Willem Defoe’s character shows up. He should’ve been in it from the start. Lily Rose Depp sold the melancholy, demon-possessed but defiant character. Bill Skarsgard breathed heavily.

That were some interesting ideas that just didn’t get developed and the ending felt too neat. But, I liked how the movie was shot and I was ctfu at some scenes. I’d watch it again.
