  I didn't expect SPIDER BABY to be a thinker.

  Like so many fine horror movies, it's a film about people on the margins of society (hicks) evading authority, upending bourgeois morality, yet reflecting (in a funhouse mirror kind of way) society's most treasured forms and values, i.e. the form and value of "family". It makes the point, forcefully, that even murderous inbred freaks, some without traditional family relations, do value family, and may even understand and model traditional "family values"…
