    My beautiful launderette (1985)UK

An ambitious Pakistani Briton and his white boyfriend strive for success and hope they can open a glamorous laundromat.

Why do I like it? Why do I recommend it?

The movie is a fun glimpse into London life in the 80’s. This gay love story addresses everything for racism, homophobia, and the social political marginalization in Margaret Thatcher’s England. This film deals with serious issues and it was way ahead of its time.

Excellent performances by the GREAT Daniel Day Lewis (Room with a View, Lincoln, The Last Mohicans) and Gordon Warnackle.
