    I'm Still Here

A sensitive film about one of the most controversial moments in Brazilian history. A beautiful performance by Fernanda Torres. It brought all the sense of truth that this type of story needs. I would also like to highlight how moving Fernanda Montenegro's few minutes on screen were. With just a smile, she managed to close the story brilliantly. It was impossible to hold back the tears.

    Hayao Miyazaki and the Heron

My first film of 2025, and what a blast! I would like to highlight three points:

    1. It must be really sad to see your friends and colleagues of decades leaving and you being left alone.

    2. Miyazaki is an excellent perfectionist. If time were no problem, he could easily make the entire film by himself, since unlike other directors who only draw the key frames, he also makes the animations frame by frame and corrects those he deems necessary.…

Luckily another Studio Ghibli movie with a strong female main character. Sophie is so adorable, I loved that she didn't rebel or blame herself for the transformation, on the contrary, she joined forces and went after a "solution". A great counterpoint to the immature Howl. It took me so long to finally watch Howl's Moving Castle that it's strange that she has become one of my favorite Studio Ghibli's characters. "Meeting" her was a pleasant surprise.

    May December

It took me a long time to come here and write something about "May December", and one of the reasons for this is that I found this movie quite complex.

At first glance, what stands out most are the performances of the trio of main actors. The scenes in which Natalie Portman mirrors Julianne Moore enchant the viewer. But the film is much more than just good acting.

There is so much unsaid between the lines that it is possible to meditate on this story for days. One of the best films I saw this year. I highly recommend it.
