It's a curious sort of film. I'm not quite who it's for. The trailer suggested it might be more like Taken but instead it's a slow moving drama.
I don't think it really pulls off what it intends to. It wants to be a bit Prisoners, a Bit Country For Old Men, a bit of a Western, a bit of a romance, and ends up being not much.
A fun ride but an unexpectedly structured one. Is it deliberately all over the place or is it a result of padding? It's not quite clear when a dream sequence goes for fifteen minutes if it's comedic genius or a result of poor or indulgent editing.
Super fun characters, I can see why this is a cult classic. Perfect to have on at a party.
Awful film. I had no idea what tone it wanted to hit. Initially I thought it was a teen sex comedy and then it went sort of erotic thriller-ish then sort of noir and then back to comedy but felt completely sloppy doing all of it. I don't know why this movie is so iconic.
I've wanted to watch this for so long and absolutely adored it. I was smiling from ear-to-ear the whole time.
