  Really surprised that the industry and Academy of Motion Pictures embraced this weird avant garde uncompromising body horror film, to the point that it was nominated in major categories and almost gave Demi Moore an Oscar.

  Really liked it, but understand why people, like my mom, are triggered by it.

  What is the point of this kinds of biopics? Are they just an exercise of emulation? Performances were good, everybody plays and sings well, but is there anything else? Everything just felt completely artificial and lacking any kind of depth.

  The festival sequence was pure magic. Additonally, the rain brought a poetic and emotional tone. At this point, the film changed completely, for the good!

  Sometimes manga’s simply don’t work that well in anime adaptations. This is a prime example of that. The anime is more concerned with driving and rushing the plot that it loses some of the most compelling elements that make the manga work so well. Nevertheless, I appreciate the animation and, of course, the seiyuu’s outstanding work.
