Rewatched this with my parents (super catholic/ mom wanted to be a nun) and am blown AWAY with everything I missed the first watch. FIRSTLY the wardrobe and costume work was absolutely divine, the intricacies of the garments were displayed beautifully. Although the film was not shot of film but digitally the play with texture and lighting/ negative space really emphasized the feeling of sacredness and emptiness. Perfect movie to represent the complexities and differences of the Catholic Church and what it means to be Catholic. Great release time for what will soon be happening in the real conclave as Pope Francis passes soon.
