No. You’re a Romeo.”Honestly, I lost count of how many times I said “awwww” during this film. John Merrick is a lover, not just of architecture and theatre, but of kindness, friendship, and dignity. The Elephant Man shows the full range of human nature: kindness and cruelty, mercy and hypocrisy, greed and compassion. Society saw Merrick as deformed, but the real ugliness was in how the world treated him.
