A24 sometimes makes good movies sometimes doesn’t. The cinematography is very much basic, so boring and plain. The lights of the movie are also not very interesting but I guess it blends in good with the story. Not a sports drama but a high school drama that lacks depth. Too many montages that are just pretty frames in pretty places, music video like that don’t elevate the story. Too little about sports, too many texts on screen, is it a book or a movie?

    Fantastic editing, saved the movie.

Good actors wasted on poor cinematography, bad script, terrible production design and lack of chemistry between the main characters.
The story is same old boy likes girl, girl likes boy but told in a semester 1 filmmaking student that now starts to get a grip on cinematography. Boring over the shoulders and singles all the time, boring locations kitchens and dinner tables with nothing particular, nothing interesting or aesthetic, no intriguing camera movements or translations, predictable frames.
    The story it's…

The story is clearly told from a man's perspective. The actors, especially M. Williams made it great.
