  This is why I love it when women direct stuff.
  It would probably be so easy to fall into realistic violent scenes to convey the message, but I felt like Paola Cortellesi was sparing me, and the audience (and especially the female audience) to have to witness that violence. We still get the seriousness of what’s happening, I just don’t have to experience the abuse.

  Also another one proving that coming from comedy can make you great at drama

  I had a lot of fun watching this movie, it’s not the film of the year or anything but I was happy because I felt like all the steps had been taken in the script to make me feel safe when projecting into Romy’s character, therefore allowing me to fully enjoy the power play kink. But when I got out and talked with friends I realised not everyone had experienced it in such a 100% positive way. I guess triggers…
