  Part I was the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in my entire life. 

  Part II was so disturbing that my friend and I didn’t speak the whole tube journey home. 

  Genuinely pissed off. No resolution, gratuitous vulgarity, subpar casting. 

  Awful shame.

  STUNNING and moving. Bradley Cooper is utterly convincing and embodies Bernstein spectacularly, with much credit to the makeup work. Not Carey Mulligan’s best performance but what she lacks is made up for by her and Cooper’s sweet (complicated) relationship. More generally very affecting and striking.

Following
