  Performing for the male gaze leads to self hatred and internalized misogyny. All she wanted was love from people who spent her whole life commodifying her and blamed herself when she no longer fit their mold of a perfect woman. I loved the body horror and campiness of it all, but the way they treated each other/the way she treated herself was just sad.
