  Reminded me of don’t look now with the heightened 70s acting style and punchy editing and mysterious vibes.. very enjoyable. Pan flute was popping off 😮‍💨

  Thinkin bout this in relation to babygirl and how they both tackle shame around female sexuality and actually end on a somewhat positive note (as in the women are able to accept and take control of said sexuality) woohoo! love how this version centers ellen and gives her a lot more agency. Eggers does a mostly good job at creating an atmosphere of true fear while balancing realism and the supernatural. Nicholas hoult and lily rose-depp did a lot of the heavy lifting there with very grounded performances as a man scared out of his wits and a woman possessed by… horniness?

Following
