The Persian Version 2023
Colorful, energetic, cheeky, sassy, and snappy- all in a good way. Beautifully touches on the stringent nuances of any mother-daughter relationship, and was an exhilarating glimpse into the life of specifically, an Iranian-American one across generations. Absolutely had my heart at the end of it. The pacing is a little fast and a little jumpy, so it might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but to me it flows like how a real person would tell a story in conversation. Spectacular film overall, though I wish it had just 20 more minutes or so to give some things a little more breath.
