i could feel the chemistry between the two main characters but the jokes mocking the Japanese are too unfunny. also read that Scarlett Johansson was 17 in this movie and the kiss with the 51-year-old-Bill Murray was unplanned so that kinda grossed me out. overall the movie is cute, comforting, hopeful and pretty and i liked the message behind it (finding a friend while feeling profoundly lost and alone). i just expected more… idk… it’s an okay movie (don’t kill me)
