i dig the cinematography, the overall vibe and some of the ideas, but the excitement got often lost in the mundanity of the rest.

its best part is in the dialogues, usually they sound really natural and humane and you feel like you’re watching real people going through their ordinary crisis under not so ordinary circumstances. unluckily there’s not much more, it did not involve me emotionally as much as I’d liked it to.

it's a really nice picture, the cast is great and the main plot is fine and I love all the social commentary, but I couldn't help feeling like an indifferent observer throughout the most part. maybe it was a bit incoherent, maybe the humor felt a bit off at times. in any case I'm happy to see Bong Joon-Ho doing big things.
