Brooklyn 2015
here’s to the people who are led to seek new horizons & the people who love abundantly. this film has so much warmth. doesn’t rise to the occasion of being better than the book, but puts in an earnest effort! Saoirse Ronan needs an Oscar like cereal needs milk.
(also the first time i watched this film taught me how to eat spaghetti The Proper Way, only to ultimately be forgotten. RIP to the shirts i have ruined since forgetting.)

Lion 2016
saw this in 2017, had the urge to rewatch after seeing it on Netflix & remembering i liked it
first half of the story is immersive & haunting, Sunny Pawar killed that ish, the majority of my rating is largely an homage to this part of the film
second half is watching the many distraught faces of Dev Patel as his character faces an (understandable) existential crisis & a generous Google Earth plug
