Akira 1988
Starts normal then ramps up a lot at the end. Akira holds a lot of suspense by telling a story in which the watcher doesn’t know everything. The politics are surface level but give the watch enough to work on. Neo-Tokyo is full of violent crime, gang warfare, and cult followings.
There were quite a few plot line which I thought were weird to add and which also didn’t seem to add too much to the overall story. The purpose behind the test subjects was convoluted and the movie left me with a strange sense of wondering “what’s the point.”Translated from by
