Had an interesting experience watching it. It's such a technical, grounded, sci-fi movie that was more about the procedures in place to examine and study an alien virus than anything else. The characters are humanized just enough so they don't seem too cold as they gradually learn more about the "strain." Really, it was fun to see all the little ways in which their perfect computerized and systemized procedures still failed and almost led to disaster simply due to human error, so I enjoyed that aspect of it a lot.

Colossus: The Forbin Project 1970
Pretty good time watching an AI slowly take over the world as it was in the 70s. Probably not such a good idea to give it control over nukes, but that's the premise. The relationship between Colossus and Forbin was also interesting. There are a few moments where Colossus exhibits signs of personality, a scene near the end where it's playing chess, saying something snarky, etc. It certainly gives Colossus a real specific atmosphere. Like I said, good times.

The Invisible Man 1933
Cinema peaked in 1933 and it's all been downhill ever since. What's the point of film, or anything anymore when The Invisible Man exists? The answer is that there is no point. None of it matters. Before or after, none of it. Only The Invisible Man matters. It is perfection incarnate. Like God, but real.
Anyways, Claude Rains was a delight. His voice is as riveting as ever, just so much emotion and madness whenever you hear it. I love…
