What struck me the most about Barbie is America Ferrera’s character and what she embodies as a whole. For us adults, reclaiming a childhood from a relatively deprived understanding of ourselves means so much. That at a certain point, as adults, it’s okay not to know what we’re feeling because, ultimately, no one has figured everything out. That somehow, this stems from a childhood experience we can only wish to liberate ourselves from vocalizing it to others.
