I Saw the TV Glow 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
For those who don’t understand the transgender/ queer reading of this film:
Coming out is scary, it’s painful, grueling, and lonely. Like burying yourself alive and not knowing whether there’s really another side to return to. You might lose everything you’ve ever known; your family, your friends, a “good, respectable life”, because no one else is like you. The whole world is designed to keep you within its standards.

Farewell My Concubine 1993
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

The Wind Rises 2013
As Miyazaki’s most recent film, The Wind Rises doesn’t have the same nostalgia for us as many of his earlier films. However, it’s a perfect example of how Miyazaki’s films grew with us. The Wind Rises is not a childrens movie. It’s a beautiful study of a man with a quandary between passion and morality during World War II. It’s stunning to look at and to listen to holding some of my favorite film sound design. It is not too late to fall in love with this movie.
