I don't expect most people to like this as much as I did. The plot and characters are often a mess and the film's themes are disparate and disjointed to say the least. But there are images, shots, and sequences that are so profoundly beautiful, so ethereal that the film's stylistic mastery overcomes its storytelling shortcomings. For better or for worse, its unlike anything I've ever seen.
