    Will someone please give Victor…

A charming and heartwarming adaptation of the homonimous Judy Blume book. Exploring how young girls navegate social pitfalls and peer pressure, and puberty. The religious journey of dabbling and trying on for size different religions and finding them all wanting culminates in a demonstration of the conflict they often bring.

    The Taming of the Scoundrel

    ★★½

A bizarre film that takes its cues from the eponymous Taming of the shrew but with the gender roles reversed. In this outlandish caricature of Italian life, logic doesn't have much purchase, the surly everyman played by Celentano is as much superman as he is a scoundrel. The character of the servant unfortunately is also a caricature and a racist one at that.

Pontecorvo, Morricone and blasting fascists into the Stratosphere, what's not to like?
