Conclave 2024
I like palace intrigue so this was fun. And all the Catholic costumes and rituals have a nice aesthetic quality. Fiennes, Rossellini, and the conservative Italian were all very good but I didn’t like Tucci’s casting even though he did fine. Lithgow needed a bit more to do. The ending was a step too far.

Dune: Part Two 2024
Better than the first, but not free of its weaknesses. I will be generous because it seems clear that Hollywood just don't got the goods anymore. James Cameron is right to sequester himself in New Zealand.
For being really long Dune 2 moved along. Worm riding was cool. Timothy is fine and Josh Brolin and the whole cast have more to do. Javier Bardem brings some much needed humor. All the witches are perfectly cast. Nice to see Christopher Walken.…
