  This film was an intriguing experience. I went in blind—no trailers, no reviews, and no clue it was a musical—so I was taken aback. Despite the surprise, I found myself appreciating the performances, cinematography, and lighting. It also challenged my general reservations about musicals. Both lead actors brilliantly conveyed a sense of unraveling madness. It felt like a “Joker” in transition, not at his peak but at his lowest, lost in confusion. It’s a portrayal that shows the character’s unraveling more than his domination.
  I don’t understand all the criticism it received.
