I had to pause the movie to sob three times. Devastating performances from Streep, Hoffman, and the child actor!!! Seriously that kid nailed the pain of divorce through the eyes of a child. Brilliant script too. The mundane moments between father and son destroyed me. The scene where Ted runs Billy to the hospital :’’’’’( I also love a 115 minute movie that tells you everything it wants to tell in that time frame.

Out of Africa 1985
Too long and slow unfortunately. Also too much white saviorism and tokenism, even when you remember it was made forty years ago. Like the film is rly about a bunch of rich white colonizers who hunt lions and tigers :/ the redeeming qualities were Streep and Redford’s performances, and the gorgeous cinematography and score.
